Project Main Activities;

RAWYOD with support from Association of Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) is currently implementing a for four-years (2023 - 2026) family planning intervention titled; Community Oriented DMPA- SC/Self-Injection Acceleration in Nigeria (CODSAiN) project across the 17 LGAs. The project aims to increase access to Hard to Reach (HTR) communities through its community- based distribution model to expand the acceptability and accessibility and close the gaps in the unmet needs and missed opportunities for FP through community scale-up of DMPA-SC and self-injection (SI) as a self-care measure within the broader contraceptive method mix. The project key activities include; Community-level DMPA-SC and SI service provision by CHIPS/CORPs, Training of facility and community health workers (CORPs/CHIPS) for FP service delivery, coordination and supportive supervision and routine monitoring, evidence-based research, and data reporting and management.

Project Main Activities;
  • Conduct Focused Group Discussion at the communities.
  • Conduct Clients Exit Interview at Global Fund supported Health Facilities.
  • Conduct Key Informants Interview at Global Fund supported Health Facilities and LGA.
  • Conduct Advocacy follow-up activity at the LGA and State levels
  • Document and report all identified issues from clients exit interview, FGDs and KII conducted.
  • Track, document and report on successful remedial actions taken to resolve identified issues at the community, LGA and States levels.
  • Participate actively at state level coordination meeting.

2Increasing access to Education for Vulnerable Children and Adolescents in Yobe StateSelf-funded projectCluster: Education (Non-Formal Education)

Project Main Activities;

Output 1: At-risk girls and boys (8- 14) enroll in and attend a safe, predictable, and caring non-formal education program
  • Establishment of Non-formal learning centers
  • Continue to create community awareness on COVID-19 together with SBMCs, community volunteers, community leaders, community meetings, and SMS
  • Support to conduct community mapping, learners' pre-enrolment, and enrolment for the Non-Formal Education (NFEs) programme.
  • Monitor Learners' attendance and ensure learners retention for the NFE programme
  • Ensure children are learning in a safe space, addressing any safety issues and referring them to the appropriate services as required
  • Track psychosocial support, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) processes, and well-being of learners in the centers
  • Support in the distribution of learner's scholastic materials, center and facilitators kits
  • Support learners transitioning from NFE programme to Formal schools
Output 2: Tutors and Learning Facilitators deliver quality literacy, numeracy, and SEL instruction.
  • Ensure that Learning Facilitators are using the lesson plans and the scope and sequence, and are not behind in the use of the curriculum
  • Ensure that Learning facilitators are delivering lessons in a child- friendly way, during scheduled hours, and that the children are on-task
  • Ensure Learning Facilitators conduct facilitators learning circle to enhance teachers' professional development
  • Ensure learning facilitators keep track of children's learning needs and outcome
Output 3: Communities support the enrolment and retention of learners, particularly girls and IDPs.
  • Work with SUBEB/SAME to train and provide capacity building support to Community Coalitions (CCs) on their roles and responsibilities
  • Promote community participation in learners' enrolment and retention
  • Work alongside community stakeholders, caregivers, and parents to ensure coherent and strategic programming as part of a unified project endeavor
  • Support to conduct effective community awareness-raising activities
  • Support to conduct advocacy activities: engagement with stakeholders at community, LGA, and State levels
  • Build the capacity of the Community Coalitions (CCs) members in the dissemination of relevant information to parents, caregivers, and stakeholders at the community and LGA level

3Increasing access to safe and voluntary family planning services in Yobe StateGlobal Fund for ChildrenCluster: Health (Sexual and Reproductive Health, Family Planning)

Project Main Activities;

The key objective of the project focused on increasing access to safe and voluntary family planning services across communities in Yobe State. Following are some of the key activities conducted;

  • Support to provide comprehensive sexual education (CSE) to both in and out of school adolescents.
  • Conduct weekly Medical out- reach on Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs to hard-to-reach communities.
  • Provision and distribution of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Family Planning Commodities to supported facilities.
  • Support in provision of cancer control services including prevention in collaborations with health facilities.
  • Conduct supportive supervision to supported facilities.
  • Participate as the members of Reproductive Health Technical Working Groups meetings.
  • Support in raising awareness raising on child spacing through social and behavioral change communication strategies including production and distribution of IEC Materials, organization of Community Dialogues sessions and advocacy to government stakeholders.
  • Established/reactivate community mechanisms related to SRH such as Community- Based Health Committees (CHCs), Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNM) and Ward Development Committees (WDCs).
  • Work with SHR structures to design action plan for community development.

Project Main Activities;

The key project activities focused on demand creation underlying on the following activities;

  • Conduct advocacy activities to relevant stakeholder in the LGA of implementation.
  • Conduct orientation meetings with community religious leaders and teachers including relevant stakeholders in the LGA of implementation.
  • Supported to conduct community mobilization and street announcement on how to make use of LLIN.
  • Conduct series of awareness raising on the importance of sleeping under LLIN.

Project Main Activities;
  • Serving as a third-party monitor ensure effective delivery of the school feeding programme at the LGAs of assignment.
  • Create awareness raising activities across the communities of implementation.
  • Conduct client interviews at community level.
  • Ensure food vendors provide nutritious food as agreed with the project and the school authorities.
  • With support from Primary Health Care Management Board, conduct deworming services to children.
  • Work with LGAs to design action plan relating to education and nutrition activities.
